Healthy Relationships & PSHE
Mrs Morris is our subject leader for Healthy Relationships which incorporate PSHE. This is what she says about her subject. St Paul’s CE Primary School believes that a strong Healthy Relationships education is important to help our pupils develop into well-rounded members of society, who can make a positive contribution to their community. Our Healthy Relationship Curriculum incorporates our PSHE curriculum and pastoral care programme. As the head teacher, I believe passionately in education the whole child, breaking down barriers to learning and preparing all the pupils at St Paul's for their next stage of learning and becoming a citizen of the 21st century. |
Our Healthy Relationships Curriculum
Our Healthy Relationships with PSHE curriculum is based around the Coram Life Education and SCARF programme.
SCARF
Safety, Caring, Achievement, Resilience, Friendship
The SCARF program was chosen by St Paul's for the following reasons. The programme:
- Fulfils all DfE statutory requirements for Relationships and Health Education
- Is a whole school approach, which ensures consistency and progression across the school.
- Incooperates a comprehensive PSHE programme
The SCARF programme promotes:
- Positive behaviour
- Robust mental health
- Well-being
- Resilience
- Achievement
We know that there is a proven, clear link between children's mental and physical well-being and their attainment, therefore our whole school approach to mental well-being, involving teachers, pupils and parents/carers working together can impact significantly on pupils' well-being, behaviour and learning.
